Leave it to the Boys...

We are in our new place and finally just about settled.  My parents drove out to help with the move (bless them) and we recruited Brett's friends to help as well. We really couldn't have done it without their help and it was so nice to have my mom here to entertain Owen all day.  

I was really worried about scratching our new walls or damaging any of our furniture...I thought I was working with amateur movers here. 

Clearly I was wrong...

 

And clearly I had no reason to worry...   

 

I only had a few minor panic attacks.  It was happening before I really had a say, and I guess I am grateful.  No damage done! 

 It was the most logical, practical, and most efficient way to get it done.  Of course. Thank you boys, thank you dad.

Oh Owen...

You are a goofy little fella'....

 

 

I'm behind in blogging about what we've been up to, but I'm too busy de-junking and packing. (I know it will pain my mom and Sheri to hear we have a great pile going for DI).  We are moving to Highland this weekend!  I will catch up once we are all settled.

We were in Arizona two weekends ago to run the Ragnar Del Sol Relay with my brothers and their wives.  My parents flew in to watch all the kiddos and my dad caught Owen playing dress up with my niece Gracelyn's cowgirl hat.

The last picture says it all....BUSTED! Gosh I love this kid.

One more for the Birthday Boy...

Just one more birthday post for Owen, bare with me.   Here he was marching out into the living room where his present was waiting..

We got him a basketball hoop, but the balloons were quite a distraction.  Maybe we should have just gone with those.

He finally got around to his hoop...and as long as we are clapping and cheering for every basket he makes, he likes it.

Cake Time...

Craig and Sheri came to town for a quick visit, so we celebrated Owen's birthday with them a day early. 

 

I attempted to make one of those giant cupcakes but the top was too top heavy, so I just used the bottom piece and made it a mini cake.

Don't worry, he didn't eat the entire cake.  We took it away and gave him a small piece to see if he'd eat the cake part instead of just the frosting.

Nope, he was all done.  Frosting is filling you know, and more fun to paint all over your body.

Priceless.

 

One Year...

It's hard to believe this little thing joined us one year ago.  So. so. tiny.

He's not so little anymore.  Happy First Birthday Owen! We love you.

Two Seven

I turned 27 last week. 

We waited until the weekend to celebrate, but while Brett was at work Owen and I ate lots of cake.

 He is definitely  my child.

 

I had a relief society meeting that night and came home to find a Red Velvet Bundt Cake and some fun surprises from Brett!

 

Over the weekend we went to dinner with friends at Malawais Cafe in Provo to celebrate. Great company, great pizza and unlimited diet cokes! We got a babysitter for Owen (first time we actually paid for a sitter and worth every penny). It was sooo nice to eat at a restaurant without flying utensils, plates, and food. Or trying to keep Owen from climbing out of his high chair.

Helmet Head...

We spent the weekend in Logan with Traci and Collin.  Owen thought it was so fun to put Traci's mixing bowls on his head.  

It was really cute until he chucked them onto the kitchen floor and shattered them.  Sorry Traci:)

And He's Off.....

Owen took his first steps Christmas Day and as of about two weeks ago, he's full on walking....everywhere.

Yes, he is still wearing his halloween jammies.  And yes, he is pant-less 80% of the time around here:) 

Owen is now 11 months old and is pure entertainment (well, most of the time). He had his last check up at 10 1/2 months, weighed in at 20.9 lbs (I swear he feels heavier) and was 28 inches long. 

We can't believe he'll be one year old next month!

Over the holidays we got to see the Baumans and the Georges. Owen had fun playing with his buddies.  It's hard to believe how fast they are all growing up.

Christmas Day...

I did a pretty lousy job of taking pictures of Owen's first Christmas.  I vow to do better next year.  

Owen took his first walking steps all by himself Christmas Day too.  Merry Christmas to us, we are about to be chasing him all over!
