27 and a Wedding

A couple of weeks ago, Brett had a birthday.  The handsome fella turned 27.

We spent the day at our good friends Todd and Rachel's wedding.  Brett was one of Todd's groomsmen.  What better way to spend your birthday than with good friends all day.  And of course your wife (kid free even).  Sheri was in town so she and Kimi watched Owen all day for us. Thankyouthankyouthankyou!

Some of the boys...

A few of the girls...

The stunning bride and groom getting ready to cut the cake (the very delicious cake!).

We went ahead and had two slices of cake, since it was a double celebration!

A Sneezy Prayer

But a prayer none-the-less.

Big Boy Bed

Last week we converted Owen's crib to his toddler bed.

I guess this really means he is a little boy and I shouldn't keep calling him "my baby."

The transition has been so much easier than I anticipated.  I think he loves the feeling of control it gives him:)

How on earth do they grow up so fast?

Water World

I spent 10 days with Owen in Colorado visiting mine and Brett's parents. Brett was able to make a quick weekend trip with us to visit his parents first, then I headed to Alamosa with my parents to stay with them for a week while Brett headed back to work.

By the end of the trip, Owen was a disaster, sleep deprived, and so ready to be home.  I should have known it was going to be a rough 10 days when he screamed and kicked (like he was having an out of body experience) the first 30 minutes of our flight to Denver, as well as on the descent.  He cried.  I cried.  I'm sure people around me cried.

He's never been a great traveler but I always think to myself, "This time will be different."  It certainly didn't help that he got a mild ear infection while were there and also cut two new teeth!

We still made the most of the trip, and as always we set aside a day for Water World.  Owen loved every minute of it.  Happiest day of the trip for him:)
