H*A*L*L*O*W*E*E*N

Halloween just happened to fall on a bye weekend, so we had no football game!!! Saturday we headed up to Logan, Ut with Melissa and Skyler to hang out with Traci and Collin for the weekend. We ate lots of yummy food, watched Friday the 13th, played games, watched football, and just relaxed! It was great! Thanks Collin and Traci for the fun weekend and letting us crash up there!

We got all dressed up in costumes and went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner....

The couple from the 70's

More Than Just a Bump!

I haven't been great about updating on the pregnancy. For a quick re-cap: The first trimester was a little rough, throwing up morning and night wasn't fun at all! But magically, around 13 weeks I woke up and felt AMAZING-I wanted to EAT real food again (not just crackers).
The second trimester has been great! At 16 weeks we found out we're having a boy, and just a few weeks ago we had our 20 week ultrasound, and he is lookin' healthy. I'm 23 weeks and feeling good! I feel the lil' guy kickin' and moving around a lot. Sometimes at work while I'm just sitting at my desk, I look down at my belly and watch it move as he kicks and punches. It's the best, I just watch it and laugh. Brett can feel and see his kicks too. He loves it!
We have a name for the lil' guy, but are choosing not to share.....you will all just have to wait until he's born, and then you'll just have to like it:)

At my 20 week ultrasound the technician told us baby Denney was measuring a little small. Brett freaked out, "What, Denney babies don't measure small?" And then he insisted I needed to eat more. Well last week at my appointment, my doctor told me I am measuring a week bigger than my due date. Brett must have offended the lil' guy and now he's out to prove he's not a weakling or small. But seriously, my belly has grown so much in the last two weeks. Yes, it freaks me out and has me a little worried that he'll be a gigantuous baby, but I'm just trying to enjoy it all!!

So here's the "more than just a bump" picture some of you have been waiting for.

23 weeks.....still feels like forever to go!!

Dreaming......about a babymoon

I am currently dreaming about dashing away with Brett to a tropical location, and enjoying a fun and relaxing week-long vacation before this baby comes. But it's just not in the cards for us. With football, school, and work it's impossible. I'm due February 24th, and Brett's done with football and school in December. January is probably too late for me to be flying, or on a boat, or on a remote island miles and miles away! Plus, I can't imagine feeling like a beached-whale on vacation would be much fun or comfortable??

I guess we'll have to do a post-Babymoon sometime next year. In the meantime, I'll just keep dreaming about it.....

Just a Thought

The virtue of your own life will be a light to those who sit in darkness, because you are a living witness of the fullness of the gospel. HER CANDLE GOETH OUT NOT BY NIGHT. We are here to be a light. To lead others safely home.
There is a great light within each of us. A light we brought with us. This light comes from a divine source and is made even brighter on the earth as we partake of the enabling power of the atonement.
Jesus said, ‘I am the light and the life and the truth of the world.’ If we tap into the true source of Everlasting light through daily prayer, studying and pondering the scriptures, service and surrounding ourselves with things that are of good report and praiseworthy we can have the companionship of the Spirit to help us utilize the power of the atonement for good in our individual lives and in our homes. A light that never goes out for those we love
.”

--- President Uchtdorf

I read this quote earlier in the week and have found myself thinking about it often, and reading it over and over. Just thought I'd share.

Cocoa Anyone?

Call me crazy, but I am obsessed with having a cup of hot cocoa every night before bed. It's not even cold outside yet. But last week we had ONE rainy, gloomy, and chilly day that made me just want to curl up on the couch with a cup of cocoa. So that's exactly what I did that night.....and just about every night since. I'm ready for fall and winter!!

Quite the Little Package.....

As our ultrasound technician put it yesterday, "baby Denney has quite the little package!"
IT'S A BOY!!!
